About the Unfortunate Expeditions
I've gotten a number of questions recently about
Gloom: Unfortunate Expeditions, in particular folks wondering about the cover price and release date. Unfortunately, these have have not yet been determined.
Release date will depend on when we need to reprint the
Gloom core game. The very high cost of the transparent plastic card stock means we need to combine production runs to reduce our cost of goods. We intend to reprint
Gloom, its first two expansions, this new expansion, and also another game that will include one transparent deck, all at the same time. It will most likely be this summer.
The MSRP is going to depend on cost, which is also unknown at this time, due to the volatility of oil prices and plastics over the past year. Our hope is that the plummeting oil prices of recent months will work its way through to lower raw materials costs by the time we go into production.
2009 Lineup
YES, we've been working on LOTS of new products for 2009. I just put up info for
Let's Kill: Crime Scene Instigation,
Mad Scientist University: Spring Break, and
Tales of Mythic Europe for Ars Magica. And as previously announced,
Realms of Power: Faerie for Ars Magica will be out next month, and
Gloom: Unfortunate Expeditions later in the year.
It's going to be a good year!
Battle of the Geeks: Installment Five
I'm back with another edition of Battle of the Geeks, in which I utterly trounce John in my claim to uber-gamer geekiness.
INSTALLMENT FIVE: ATTACKING THE GAZEBO
I have a motivational poster hanging in my office. No, not THAT kind of motivational poster ... the gamer spoof kind. It's one that makes me smile whenever I see it.

Okay, so, moderately geeky. Here's where the points really come in. The other night, my gaming group ATTACKED THE GAZEBO in our 4E game. Seriously. You know the drill ... the undead are rising and attacking our village, so we intrepid adventurers hack through the masses of zombies in the graveyard. But they keep coming! Then we notice THE GAZEBO OF DOOM. That's right, we ended up having to destroy the green-glowing gazebo in order to get to the arcane symbol underneath that was raising the dead, and then obliterate that.
And to top it all off, we had some crazy cool minis to suit the situation, courtesy of Bobbi's trip to the local Menards' post-Halloween sale ...

Why yes, that gazebo IS made of bones, thanks for noticing!
GEEK SCORE:
Michelle = 5
John = 1
