Three additional out of print titles are now available for purchase as PDF downloads today from e23. They are:
I should note that we do plan to reprint Realms of Power: The Infernal at some point, but the other two titles are out of print for good.

  1. Any plans to pdf Ancient Magic? Warehouse23 states that it's no longer available.

  2. Yes, I hope to get Ancient Magic done in the next batch of PDFing, along with Covenants (the 5th Edition version; the ancient Lion Rampant version from 1989 is already online).

  3. Great! As I noted on the forums, Ancient Magic is exactly the kind of book that would benefit from the search capacity of PDF format.

I'd desperately like to see Sanctuary of Ice, Tribunal of Hermes: Iberia and some of the other ArM4 products made available in PDF even though I own many in hardback for similar reasons.

Are there even many of these left available in print?

    Cheers,

  4. Both Sanctuary of Ice and Tribunals of Hermes: Iberia are still in print.

  5. OK, is that why they aren't candidates for PDF?

And/or is it because unlike the newer ArM5 supplements the files are harder/costlier to convert as they have to be OCR'd not just converted from the original publishing format (IIRC this was mentioned on the forums previously)?

So if I buy up the remaining print copies, you'll consider releasing PDfs.... :P

    Thanks,

    Jarkman

  6. Yes, our practice for Ars Magica has been to release PDFs only for books that have gone out of print (though sometimes we get them reprinted subsequently). It's also the case that it's more work to make PDFs of older books -- we may not have the files (as in the case of White Wolf era books like Iberia), or I may have to fire up antique operating systems on old hardware in order to get a clean postscript dump for distilling (as with the 4th Edition supplements).

Even for out of print items, I don't have a fixed schedule for getting them online. It just happened that this week I found some time to devote to the task, and figured I'd just get these six books online right away rather than doling them out over time.

  7. OK, thanks for the clarifications.

I've certainly appreciated the PDFs released so far in any case. They're much easier to reference and search.

    Cheers,
