Ars Magica 5th Edition: On Sale Now as PDF

For a lot of Ars Magica fans, this afternoon's announcement is going to be like Christmas in ... well, December, I guess...

Lacking anything more clever to say, let me just tell you that Ars Magica 5th Edition is available for sale now in electronic format from e23.  Of course the hardcover, paper edition is also still available (get it from Warehouse 23 or your favorite other game outlet), but I know a bunch of folks have long been waiting for a legit way to acquire the book in electronic form, and here it is at last, begging for you to buy it today instead of spending so much on holiday presents for your loved ones.  Enjoy!

Don't forget that there are a lot of other digital Ars Magica supplements available as well -- 66 of them for sale on e23, at last count!

  1. This is great news!

Do you have any plans to release the Ars Magica books in a real ebook format, like mobi or epub, so that it can be read easily on iPads, Kindles, and similar tablet/mobile devices?

  2. No immediate plans, but we may do it at some point. It's just a lot easier to go from print book to PDF. We'd probably experiment with a book or two and first see how popular it is and whether it yet justifies the effort of doing more.

  4. RPG books are very layout-intensive. Having now done three conversions of text-only novels for Kindle, I can say that I doubt that an RPG would be feasible in that format.

  5. Thanks for this. From a writing / design perspective, not having the corebook in PDF has been a real pain as it has made writing on the move / on vacation (in airports / on planes) difficult. Now the wards are broken let the creative spirits loose...

    Cheers,

  6. At long last! This is terrific.

Just one question: have all the errata from the first and second printings been corrected?

  7. Yes. It took some significant effort, but it's all been corrected in the PDF. In fact, all the the recent PDF releases have their errata fixed.

  8. Thanks for the current correction updates. Will all 5th edition (and maybe earlier) books PDFs be corrected? How can we know which have been corrected?
